Crazy Weekend

So I suppose I’ll just start from the beginning. Saturday morning Dad and Flo arrived. Jack was doing rolls on the floor and talking to my Dad, when Betty decided to run around. She was overly hyper and started heading for Jackson at top speed. I didn’t think she was going to stop, so I put my arm out to stop her. I really didn’t think she’d even hit my arm, instead she hit it at full speed and tripped. She came tumbling down chest first right onto jackson’s face!! I was in shock and can see the whole thing in slow motion still! Betty quickly got off Jackson, luckily not stepping on him, and I waited to see what had become of jack’s face. It was all scrunched up, but he wasn’t crying…yet. A few seconds later then most horrific cries started coming form our poor little boy. Poor Betty was hiding under the table, and I rushed Jackson upstairs to console him. The best way to do that of course is just to feed him. But he was so worked up he wouldn’t latch on for a few minutes, so I just had to watch him scream and turn various colors of pink, red and purple! Once he calmed down we went back downstairs. He was a bit touchy and whining the rest of the day, but all in all he recovered quite well. And he didn’t have a single mark on him! At first a little red spot on his forehead, but that disappeared. We made sure Betty came over and spent time with Jackson after that, so she wouldn’t feel so bad. It’s amazing how dogs can sense our emotions! Anyways That night my Dad and Flo babysat, while they treated us to a nice dinner out! Cory and I went to the Keg and had to wait an hour for a table. We at least got a seat at the bar and had a beer while we waited. It was kind of nice being away that long, it really felt like a good break! Our meal was delicious and by the end we were stuffed and tired, ready to see our little boy! We got home and he was asleep, but woke a few times. It was so nice to hold him and cuddle him! I didn’t mind that he woke up. Anyways he was a perfect angel while we were gone, so that was nice. On Sunday I was heading back to Victoria with my dad and Flo to see a friend who is having a baby in January. We found out that the ferries weren’t running from twassen so it was decided that we would drive up to Horseshoe Bay and take a ferry to Nanaimo, then drive down island. On our way there we were listening to the news and found out that ferries were once again running from tsawwassen, so we turning around and made it on the 2pm ferry! So that night my sister and her boyfriend came over as it was her birthday. We had supper and they got to see Jackson, before he went to bed. I was very tired too, so I went to bed early. Jackson slept in bed with me, so we both had a fairly good sleep. The next day I had a brief visit with my friend and then off to the ferries I went again. During the whole weekend, Jackson was wonderful in the car, which is very rare! Well something happened on the ferry about twenty minutes before we docked. I really don’t know what set him off, but Jackson started wailing and screaming like I’d never seen or heard! He just wouldn’t stop! I had to put him in his carrier, get my giant backpack on and try to find the mom and baby area on the ferry so I could try to nurse him back to sanity in private. After a few minutes of searching I finally found the room and tried for a long time to calm him. Just as they were making the announcements for everyone to prepare for disembarkment, Jackson finally latched on! He was more hysterical that time that when the dog landed on him and when he has his shots! So I nursed him for as long as I could, and he was calmer, though not happy, until he saw Cory on the other side. Jackson was just beaming at Cory and I was so happy, but completely exhausted from the ordeal! Jack was good for about half the car ride, then began the hysterical crying again. We pulled over and Cory calmed him. We got back in the car and Jack was good until the last 5 minutes. When we got home, we left everything in the car and I went to bed, while Cory calmed Jack and got him to bed. Jack and I crashed hard for about half and hour. When we awoke it was 6:30, so I had some dinner and Cory looked after Jack for the rest of the evening. Last night Jack had a great sleep, waking only 3 times and was very easy to get back to sleep! Alright this post is already too long, but a lot has happened!
