The Trip
Yesterday, very early in the morning Cory and I packed up our cars, loaded Jackson and Betty into my car and went our seperate ways. I wasa bit nervous about the drive to Horseshoe Bay as it was on lng busy route of HWY 1. However I managed just fine and got on the ferry no problem, though I was a bit weary from the drive. The ferry was strange as usually I am with Cory. Jackson and I just wandered about the decks, and took Betty for a quick walk on the car deck. The drive from Departure Bay to my Mom's was super easy and though it was busy, most drivers were on island time, which is more my style of driving. After Jackson and I settled in we both had naps, then a couple of Mom's friends came over for a wonderful East Indian dinner that Mom had whipped up. I've never really had east indian food and was a bit scared at first, but the butter chicken was delicious!! Cory would be jealous! Last night Jackson slept fairly well. He got up a couple times but was very easy to settle. At 3am he didn't want to go back to sleep soI had to rub his back for quite some time! He didn't have any screaming fits and ended up sleping in until almost 8am!! That was a great treat for me! Today my Mom took the day off work, however she's working on her cabin at Horne Lake, so should be home in the afternoon. I'm hoping to go to the beach and have Bety run around a bit. There isn't much of a yard here for Betty and the lot is not fenced, so we've been going on little walks. For the first time, I put sunscreen on little Jack's face! I went to the health food store and got some hypo-allergenic stuff for wee ones. It hasn't totally sunk in that I am not going back to Langley, and the Victoira is my soon-to-be home. My mom was surprised that I didn't feel sad about leaving our first home together, but I never realy had much emotionally invested in the townhouse. Also Cory and I have lived in so many places, that the townhouse was just one more place. I already feel differently about our new house. I have an attachemnt to it and haven't even been there for more than 15 minutes! THough I can picture Jack growing up there, not like the townhouse. I never really pictured Jackson growingup there, or even geting to the walking stage there! Little Jackson is up from his napso I shoud go!
