Changing Habits
I have been thinking for a while now that the next step in Jackson's evolution should be to wean him from feeding to sleep at night. I know people who feed their babies/children to sleep for naps as well as night time. Fortunatly we apprached the daytime feedings differently. So now there is just this one feeding that Jackson needs to fall asleep to. My main reason for wanting him to break this habit is not because i want to stop breastfeeding, but because I don't want our little habit to wreck his teeth. We now brush his teeth twice a day. However after his supper brushing he has that one last meal, so it defeats the purpose of brushing before bed. At first I felt kind of paniced and had no idea how we were going to break him of this habit, but then I decided that if we slowly move his last feed a bit earlier everyday, then eventually we'll be able to brush his teeth then give him a little cuddle and send him off to bed.......oh only if it were that easy! I hope it will be, but we'll just have to wait and see. It will be a very slow process, so Jack doesn't freak out. I've also decided that we are giving Jackson too much iron fortified cereal and have to cut back on that a bit. I've never fed him until he stops eating on his own, he seems as though he'd eat forever! Tomorrow I am going to start introducing fruit to our little boy. We'll start off with bananas as they are quite mild.

he is simply hungry...? feed the boy! ukrainian mama
yeah but the iron in the cereal is clogging up his little intestines! We are feeding him more veggies and less cereal. i am going to start introducing regular grains that aren't iron fortified so he'll still get plenty of food.
