So I was wrong about the tea....it was just a coincidence that he slept well the first two times I had it. I've tried it two other nights and he was waking every three hours! So here we are back to square one. Cory discover something rather remarkable today though, he put Jackson in his swing and he fell asleep! All on his own! Up until now Jackson had to have a combination of a number of things...always while we held him. There was the rocking, walking, jiggling, swaying, swaddling, singing, shhing, blowdryering, soothering and probably a lot more that I can't recall any more! So the fact that he fell asleep on his own is the most remarkable thing ever! Even more remarkable is that he stayed asleep for almost an hour! Usually when we put him down in the day he wakes up a few minutes later and we start the calming proccess all over again. We don't want to use the swing too much, in fear that he will get so used to it that he won't fall asleep any other way! So we'll see how things go. Today I received pricing for a cloth diaper service here in Langley. I just wanted to see if it was worth trying it out for a month to see if cloth diapers were going to work for us. After pricing out the cost of disposable diapers vs. getting a diaper service, we'd actually save money getting the diaper service. Right now because his diapers are the cheapest they will ever be, we'd be spending $8 per a 4 week period, but when he moves up to the progressivly larger diapers, the diaper service cost stays the same, but the disposibles just get more and more expensive! And then if we actually bought diapers and did all the cleaning ourselves, we'd save even more! Right now however, we can hardly get the regular household laundry done, let alone a load of diapers every couple days! Anyways we are going try the diaper service out for sure, so I'm excited! Disposible diapers just seem so weird, all he paper, plastic and absorbant chemicals scare me!
All in all things have been going pretty well lately. I signed up for a Mom and Baby Yoga class that starts in November. I've also been getting out and doing more walking than I used to, so that makes me feel better. I just have to remember to keep myself occupied, so I don't get bored or homesick.
