What to Do?!
I am geting very tired of Jackson's bedtime antics! He's up so much and not easy to put back down. Over the weekend we had him sleeping in our room, in his playpen. That seemed to work quite well. He wasn't getting up as much. Mostly because as soon as we heard him move, we'd turn on the blowdryer (which I kept beside the bed) and he instantly go to sleep. It's like turning off an awake switch! The blowdryer goes on and Jackson goes to sleep! Well last nigt we had to turn the blowdryer on about 12 times and I also had to get up 3 times to feed him! Oh and Cory also had to get up and calm him when one time the blowdryer didn't work. So tonight something has to change. I've heard that feeding a breast fed baby a bottle of formula before bed tides them over for longer, so they wake less. I am not sure if I'm ready to give Jackson formula, the thought kind of scares me, so here is our other option. We put him to sleep in his swing for the night. During the day he sleeps much better in his swing than anywhere else, so maybe at night it will keep him asleep longer! When this whole night time waking got worse and I found out that babies should not be awake for more than 2 hours at a time, so during the day he has 3 or 4 naps, but that isn't really working either. I thought sleep patterns were supposed to get better with time, not worse! On a positive note, I've started my baby play group. We learn songs and socialize with other moms. It went well, there are some nice moms. It's hard because there isn't anyone quite like my friends in Victoria, here. I guess there are just a lot more freaky, arty, interesting people in Victoria than Langley! Jackson likes seeing other babies, so that's nice. There are a few babies his age and they are much better at holding and propping themselves up when on their tummies, so I've got some homework. Jackson still doesn't like tummy time, so I've not been doing it as much as I should. I've got to start doing it a lot more from the looks of things!
