Photo of Jackson sleeping at Grandma Green's house.
Being away has taught me a lot about Jackson. Before we went away I thought it was necessary to use certain tools to get him to sleep I'd swaddle him (yep, STILL swaddling!) and rock him while he had his soother. Since we didn't have a rocking chair while we visited the grandparents, we had to adapt. We went back to the blowdryer to calm him, and I forgot how fast it puts him to sleep. What was really amazing though, was when my mom and Eva just held Jack and he fell asleep! One time he wasn't swaddled and he didn't even have his soother! Pretty soon Cory was able t settle him in the same manner. I have tried to setlle him without the use of any tools and so far it hasn't worked. I've been successful at not using the soother or not using the blowdryer, however I can't not swaddle him. If he's not swaddled it's to hard to transfer him to his crib or the swing....and I'm not prepared to have him sleep on me for all his naps again! I'm very ahppy that at least half of his naps are in his crib now. It means that I get a better rest than listening to the swing for an hour! Slowly he is becoming more mature and eventually settling him and napping will become easier! I am also working on getting him to bed earlier still, so that instead of 4 or 5 naps, he only needs 3! Right now the morning nap is quite established and I am grateful for that! The rest will come in time!
