Second in a Series
It's been harder and harder to get on the computer these days. Jack just won't have it! He's still having his little temper tantrums, but I have a new weapon! When Jack was very little we refered to "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and it helped us through some rough patches. Now I am 2/3 of the way through the next book by the same author, "The Happiest Toddler on the Block". And wow everything makes so much sense!! I thought that our communication with Jack was great, but really it was pretty well a one way street. We weren't listening to what he was expressing during his tantrums. We knew what he wanted, but didn't know that he needed to know we understood him. So now when he gets really worked up I am able to empathize with him in a way he understands and that calms him down enough so that I can distract him! There are lots of other things to be learned as well, but this has been the most helpful so far. Now I just need Cory to read it and then we're set! Other things in my life are going well. I've been able to catch up with a lot of house cleaning lately, and really keep things in order better! At the end of the month my painting class starts, so that's really exciting.... also a bit nerve racking! I've never "had" to paint! Yesterday I was invited to a knitting group down the road and it was great! I did't really have a project i was working on but I "doodled" in wool form a bit. I would like to make myself some fuzzy bunny slippers and also a big elephant for Jack. Well mom duties call so better get a move on!
